A Kikuyu man is the talk of the town after he landed in a chopper to pay dowry for his longtime lover in Kagio, Kirinyaga, Central Kenya.
The man, identified as John Cena, hired two choppers which transported him and his friends to his in-laws’ place for dowry payment ceremony.
After landing in a dusty place, red carpets were rolled out for the groom and his friends; they walked majestically to the ceremony’s venue. John, who was wearing a khaki outfit, then joined his wife, who was seated on a cosy queen chair dressed in a brow and maroon African dress.
The entourage caused a stir in the quiet village with their loud choppers as villagers ran to have a glimpse of the choppers. Photos from the flashy ceremony were shared on social media by media personality turned pastor Muthee Kiengei, who was the event’s MC. Kiengei congratulated his friend, John, wishing him well in his marriage.
A section of netizens was awed by John’s flashy entrance at his in-laws’, saying he had outshined Luos, who are known for going all out when it comes to love matters.
