Music is a very important factor at weddings because it sets the mood and pace of the entire day. There are songs that have been overly played at wedding functions since time immemorial and still continue to trend.

Mustapha Kasule famously known as Moustey DJ,  an events deejay since 2011 and also winner of the 2017 Ug Mix Maestro Award with major appearances at events like the Kabaka’s coronation(Jubileewo) gives us a list of top wedding songs that rocked our 2018, yet still continue to make us go ahhh… in the New Year

• Bankuza by Chosen Becky

It is the biggest hit at the moment. It is liked by both the old and young couples and currently cannot miss at any introduction or wedding ceremony.

• Wankona by Sheebah Karungi

Released late 2018, this is a song that every youthful couple wants to dance to at every event as the elderly look on in with enjoyment.

• Matala by Winnie Nwagi

This is a song that saved Nwagi’s silent year. It blends well with all the youth and it easy to dance to. It usually works well for brides who cannot dance vigorously because of its moderate tempo and classy touch at the same time. Kwasa has a blend of Afro zouk and a local touch. This song is perfect for parts of the function played by the more age advanced clients. It is a hyper song that mostly sengas or parents like dancing to.

• Banyabo by Rema Namakula.

This is the song for the classy mothers of this world. It is played at all events where people are referring to their mothers. This songs breaks the monotony of ‘maama’ by Judith Babirye.

• Kyarenga by Bobiwine

Making rounds in the social and political world. Kyarenga is the song of the season. Every time the event is dull, this is the perfect song to hype up the crowd. No ifs or buts about it.

• Tikula by Rema

Brides between the ages 23-35 cannot fail to choose a Rema song for their special day. Tikula is an amazing sing along song usually played when the bride and groom are serving cake and gifts are being brought at a wedding or at the end of the kwanjula during the kabo kamuwala moment.
