Hellen Lukoma got married to fiance, also former manager Anwar Kaka (whom she nick-named Mr. A) last Friday after their introduction ceremony was concluded with a kuwoowa/muslim marriage ceremony at Maria’s place in Buwate. Lukoma was given a muslin name and she shall be known as Hilal. The couple also celebrated their wedding on the same day, full with maids and a wedding dress. When Lukoma posted her wedding photos on Instagram, she had this to say about how she feels for newly wed hubby;
“Sometimes u can’t explain what u see in a person… it’s just the way they take you to a place where no one else can.” She signed the message off with “MRS A”

Hellen and husband Anwar pose for a photo. Anwar matched his Kanzu with brown shoes. Noticeably. Lukoma wore a gomesi and kitambala in exactly the same colours as her kukyala outfit

The bride appeared in two gomesi changes
In Buganda, when a man takes a wife, he brings a suitcase. Inside it is a gomesi and other womanly items as a sign that he will be able to take care of her. Lukoma received hers.
Lukoma accessorized her glittery blue, purple and black gomesi with clear diamond earrings. Her hair was made in an up do with strands left to flow down.
The wedding
Lukoma changed into a white gown to celebrate her marriage. Husband Anwar changed from a Kanzu to kitenge. Notably, Lukoma also changed her look. She used red lipstick for her gown in contrast with the light pink shade she had on for her gomesi outfits. Her hair was also let down for the dress.
Unlike the conventional white and silver match ups, Lukoma matched her gown with purple earrings and hair accesory. She did not wear a necklace, a good decision to make considering her gown had detail going on at the bossom. In the background, her maids dance to the beat as Anwar’s best-man follows the couple close by.
Lukoma wore an all white, off shoulder V-neck gown with a trail. In most photos, we see Anwar’s best-man in the background but not Lukoma’s matron. Probably she did not want to choose from her many friends.
The trail on Lukoma’s wedding dress gives a ballroom Cinderella look to the other wise mermaid gown.
Each maid wore a dress with their own unique design at the top
A happy couple they were surrounded with all the fluff. The couple did not use any flowers in their decor and still managed to make it look splendid. Click here to see how you can do it as well.
The dollar splash did not stop at the kwanjula. Anwar also splashed some money on his wife in her wedding gown
