On August 17th, My Wedding ran a story of a cake baker, Diana Karara Kobugabe Karara, who had a cake to deliver to someone’s wedding but was caught up because her husband was in intensive care with a blood clot in the lungs at IHK.
She shared her troubles on a WhatsApp group of Ugandan cake bakers, Cake Shop Uganda who didn’t hesitate to give her a helping hand. The bakers divided the work amongst themselves and at the end had a happy couple, and a happy Kobugabe who managed to stay besides her sick husband, all thanks to them.
Today, the mood is festive in the Cake Shop Uganda group on facebook as Kobugabe’s husband has been discharged from hospital.
The administrator of the group, Asha Batenga posted saying, that although she had restraints about their decision to help out a colleague getting publicity at first, as it was a private matter between them, after the good news of the discharge, she is happy. To this, she shared a link of the first story.
