Ugandan singer and electric dancer Phina Mugerwa commonly known as Phina Masanyalaze introduced her muzungu sweetheart to her family over the weekend in Kagoma, Nabweru, Wakiso District.
In a private Kukyala, only attended by close friends and family at her Senga’s home, Phina introduced her long-time lover, who has only been known as Rodgers by press time. The function came as a surprise to many, as the waist whiz was believed to be single for a long time, after breaking up with her South African ex-husband Kenneth Muyisa. Also, the singer had just lost her 16-year-old child to untimely death just a week before the event.
Her new hubby, who sources say comes from England, looked impeccable in a Kanzu and black coat. The bride was clad in an off-white Gomesi, adorned with gold embroidery and accessories.
Phina, who earned herself the nickname “Uganda’s Shakira” for her dexterity in whining her waist has been widely is also part of the leadership of the Uganda Musicians’ Association. The function was graced by notable figures in the music industry such as veteran folk singer Annet Nandujja, and singers/actors Kato Lubwama and Mariam Ndagire in attendance.
